I've been on COBRA and it expires next month. The premiums weren't to bad and I did not qualify for the stimulus, 35%/65% as I was laid off before Sept, 2008. I was wondering what others are doing as I have to start looking for a new plan. I have BCBS now but believe the premium will almost double. We do need some type of coverage, what are your thoughts?

I may continue my current plan under someone else if the pricing's good but if not I'll just get the coverage that covers catastrophic incidents (broken leg, etc.). $400/mo I currently pay for my COBRA coverage.

If anything I hope there's a consensus in health care reform for those who are uninsured or underinsured, it's sad for a very modern society the United States is the only country where medical bills bankrupt a person or a family.

YES, my unemployment ins and healthcare end almost the same time.

Healthcare goes hand in hand with the unemployment threads, as when you lose your job, you lose healthcare (paid for the most part by the employer). So now your income is cut drastically and you have to pay for healthcare, or go without.
