Looking to swap our Poconos house for your NJ house
Hi everyone! We looking for someone in the northern or central NJ area who would like to move to the Poconos and swap houses. I have been reading about this growing trend and it seems like a great idea, so I figured I would give it a try. We have a 4 bedroom 3.5 bath house on a little over 1 acre just outside of downtown Stroudsburg, PA. Very close to shopping, restaurants, skiing, Rt. 80. We would really like to move into NJ around the Madison, Chatham area but we are open to other towns. If you are thinking about moving to the Poconos but didn't want to have to pay real estate commission or have the hassle of selling your house, please get in touch with me and maybe we can do a house swap! Also, if you know anyone who has done this before, let me know how it worked out, it seems like a great idea. Thanks!

Hi! Our house appraised at $365000. We know NJ is more expensive than PA, so if your home is worth more than that, we will mortgage the rest. Please let me know if you or anyone you know may be interested, I would be happy to send you pictures and more detailed information.

Thanks for you stark observation. I am acutely aware of the challenging housing market and price difference between NJ vs. PA housing prices. I was trying to give the inquirer an idea of the value of my home, which is based on two "professional" opinions. I am still confused as to what your capacity is besides providing a worthless reply to a conversation.

I'm confused. Why don't you just list it and try to sell it that way? Have you had a hard time trying to sell it? I hear the market is really at a standstill out there.

We have had it listed and aren't having too much luck. The market is really slow here and we figured if someone in NJ happens to be selling their house to move to PA we could possibly swap. You also get to avoid the Realtor's commission this way. I figure it's worth a try, never hurts to ask!

I think you might have better luck in Craig's List, just check and make sure it is a genuine deal. Good luck.
