This group trip was organized through Meetup, a social network consisting of hundreds of groups focused on various interests.
Approximately 24 people went on this outing; some experienced and fun to be around; some completely clueless id-jits I'll be
eager to avoid in the future.

We really had a good time touring Pueblo Bonita, sharing a meal back at camp and attending the Night Sky Lecture at the
visitors' center. It got cold fast so we bedded in early and got up late. A couple early risers sighted elk on the road just
after dawn. I wasn't that ambitious..

We had a great breakfast omelet (cooked by none other than Your Humble Correspondent), then gathered our stuff up and
headed home around 9am. Unfortunately, we could not stay longer due to other commitments, but the group went on to tour
another ruin and hit a locally famous restaurant, El Bruno, in the town of Cuba on the way home.

A fun weekend...

Hi, Zia!

It was really good. The Rio Rancho Astronomy Club was out there so there was more than
the normal number of telescopes, but it was also a bright moon so that interfered a bit.
The slide show / lecture was EXCELLENT and well worth attending.

It supposedly got down to about 29F overnight and a couple greenhorns who didn't listen very
well weren't properly prepared. Darwinian Selection at work...

We were fine, but I really don't like camping in cold weather any more so that's probably
it for us this year. Let your youngest get another year older and I think you could take the
entire family camping in late Spring without any problems.

One person claimed to have heard a wolf... my comment to her was "two or four-legged?"..

I can see the real estate add; antique multifamily house with excellent views, some repair required.

Another place on the "to visit" list.
