So I saw the thread about how much electricity is and now I am curious how much water bills are and what car insurance on a '10 hyundai elantra might be. What are gas prices? Any other bills?
We haven't been here long (about 2 months), but it appears that water/sewer/trash (all one bill) runs just over $50 a month. Water is metered, so yours may run higher/lower depending on usage. We're not water misers, but we haven't used a lot of water outside, so it seems right to us; Alamogordo does limit outside watering in some seasons.
Our electric bill seems decent so far--about $50-$60 a month. But, we haven't had our AC running, which we realize will drive that bill up next summer. We do have gas heat, gas stove and water heater. Again, our bill so far hs been about $50-60 a month, but I expect that will spike in January and February when it gets very cold.
It can and does get cold at night; however, most days are sunny enough that opening curtains/blinds will warm up your house very nicely during the day. In fact, it gets warm enough in the car during the day that I have to open the windows!
Again, we've only been here a couple of months. Hopefully, others with more experience here will chime in.
