Admit it, most of us Albuquerqueans or "Burquenos" are guilty of saying some of these things. And it is pretty darn true, sad at times, funny on others.
I know several cousins in Northern New Mexico whom have this accent deeply, others are just transplants I know that talk like this....
I'm sorry but I do not let my children use this kind of language-slang. I have family members that speak like this, I've taught my children that it's improper. Sorry but I feel that it just dumb-downs and stereotypes the Hispanic people. Also speaking like this isn't something someone does naturally, it's learned. Please speak proper English or please speak proper Spanish.

Someone is taking this too seriously.
I cracked up at 'I'm too drunk too walk....let's drive.'
Interesting.. I've always thought proper Spanish was the Castellano style they spoke in Spain, complete with the lisplike sound.
You thought incorrectly to a degree... Very general statement. Spanish, Español, Castilian is my native language with a lot of dialect variations.
I have to agree with Guitarplr to a degree. I try not to use this kind of language-slang dumb-ed down language, it was difficult enough for me to learn English without dealing with the "monkey talk".
And English is the official language on City-Data.com.
