You are "OUT" there on this road. One old ranch house and it crosses the CDT a couple of times, but other than that, nothing but views and cows, and probably tons of Elk at the right time of day.

Have not done that one yet. I remember getting fooled on the Quebradas Back Country Byway. It's a lot longer than it looks on a map.

Truthfully I can't really think of any drive off the blacktop I have taken west of the Sandias that would fit every element of that definition. In fact parts of that definition are what makes those drives so special. I tend to think of desolate more in terms of, if you break down how many hours or days would it take for another vehicle to pass your way.
