That i do not know whether they have high speed internet or not but maybe their Chamber of Commerce could answer that. I asume if they have cable tv then they should have high speed.

I am curious if you decided to move anywhere in this area??

I currently have a DSL connection, a bit faster than dialup, but leaving loads to be desired. Friends in Carrizozo just put in Sat-hookup for their computers. Not sure which one tho.

Grocery store now open in Carrizozo!!

No, not yet. It will be a while before I can do it. Besides, I need to come out there and check out a lot of places first. I've never been to the Silver City area; I should have a look. But as of now, I'm thinking I'll wind up somewhere between Alamogordo and Socorro, in that general area. I like the climate and the terrain. I'm glad to know that DSL is available, even if it's not the greatest, and a grocery store is certainly a good thing to have around.

Thought you'd enjoy this article Catman and others about Phase II getting ready to start in the new housing subdivision east of town. Hard to believe little Carrizozo is growing.....

The store is not open. So much was spent on the remodel that the owner does not have the dough to stock the store.

And yes 6'3 the store will be in the old Sturges building.

6'3": Thanks. It does seem unlikely for Carrizozo to take off like that, doesn't it? I wonder how the slowing economy will affect it, if at all.

There still is NO grocery store in Carrizozo! Going on 3 years with using allsups as a store. The guy who owns the building the grocery store was in should sell it to somebody who will do something with it besides using it for motorcycle parking. How wastefull! The same person also distroyed the towns only hardware store. Talk about a one man wrecking crew!
