High winds (those exceeding 30mph in gusts) can last into June, as evidenced by the devastation caused by the early June [vimeo]43913811[/vimeo] Little Bear Fire in early June of 2012. There is a frightening time lapse video that demonstrates the force of the wind and its influence on the progress of the fire during its peak days. It burned for virtually all of June once started.
