I LOVE that!

I used to pine for it when I was 'abroad.'

Red or Green? He|| yes!

I bet EnjoyEP wishes someone, anyone would ask him that! Just once this year.

You know you're in New Mexico when you have sobriety checks on a major highway on a Saturday night.

You know you're in New Mexico when "Christmas" can mean something else other than December 25.

Durn you. You took most of the air out of my sails...

You know you're in NM when you're asked, "Red or green?" and one of the possible answers is "Christmas."

Default Speaking of Christmas...How about this one?

You know you're in New Mexico when decorating for Christmas involves paper bags, sand, and candles.

I'll know I'm in NM... with when I begin to look forward to the rain with something akin to glee and not despair...

When normal conversations overheard in the supermarket weave effortlessly in an out of Spanish, English, and Spanglish....and you understand it.
When your friends keep thinking you've bought a home in Mexico, and wonder if your near the beach.
If those friends ask if they need a passport to come and visit. ( I tell them YES)
If you're PROUD to live in a mud hut.
If you know chile is a vegetable and is spelled with an E
If you have come to loath endless billboards obscuring nice views

You know you're in New Mexico when you can't see why your friends back East aren't thrilled to hear you bought "a little mud house down by the Rio Grande."

P.S. That was our house in Las Cruces. There are very few mud houses in Clovis...
