Default After Hurrican Katrina

Taken after Hurrican Katrina, around Thanksgiving 2005. In one, you can see the faint green line near the top of the windows - that was the water line when flooded. All were taken near the New Basin Canal, one is the collapsed Lighthouse at the mouth of the harbor. One is of the former restaurants that lined the canal. And finally a friend of my son,m wading down a street in Slidell.

Here's some pics of my neighborhood, all taken within half a block of my house:

The first one is of the house next door to mine. It's obviously not in great condition, but I included it because you can see the detail that went into a lot of these older houses.

The second is two houses down the street from me that were just renovated, really nice examples of work done on larger old homes.

The third is the house next door to me on the side street. Typical shotgun double, painted an interesting color.

The fourth is a home owned by a code enforcement (city) officer. Really nice example of a double that was converted to a single.

Enjoy.

Belle - That last picture from Slidell is Pontchartrain Blvd. That area was totally devastated.

Yeah, that's what he said, and sent the photo to prove it. His house was just a wreck.
