On July 4th night there were 3 red dots in the sky forming a triangle. Someone said they were drones. That was disturbing.

There are a lot of drones in NO. The filming industry uses them a lot. A lot of citizens are buying them now. You can get basic drone for about $400 not including the go pro hook-up. Yes, it is very scary.

Just watch the world news. Drones will be the least of your worries. I'm almost to the point where I don't watch tv anymore. Life is too short... just brought back memories of an Oakland rapper... I'm getting old...and I'm rambling...sorry.

A couple more years and drones will be a dime a dozen. They'll be everywhere.

OK, so I meant "make" laws, not "make up" laws. I know that there will potentially be some privacy issues with the use of them, because inevitably, there's going to be someone who going to want to use one to spy on someone.

Can I not get chewed out and scolded for every little word I say on these forums?

I know exactly what you mean, but the way you worded it suggested that any law regarding drones is just another attempt at "taking your freedoms" or some other rhetoric.

And if you plan on posting in the City Vs City forum, get used to it.

Currently Federal Law Prohibits commercial use of "Drones" which are acually radio controlled model aircraft going back to the 60's... (and earlier)

The FAA has granted some waivers for commercial companies (mostly filming companies) to aid in the creation of laws on how to handle the issue.

"3 red dots in the sky forming a triangle." is not that unusual... Was it reported?

Yes, it seems like there's a lot I have to get used to, especially if I'm planning on ever going to bootcamp. I don't know why I've had such a bad attitude towards criticism lately, but I have to stop it before I lose my temper, and then even more respect from others. I mean, I know WHY I'm having a bad attitude, but I'm not going to talk about it here, and it doesn't belong on these forums.

So, Poncho_NM, does that mean that drones cannot be used for journalism purposes anywhere in the country?

Saying drones are not a threat to the public is not a well received message in the mideast
