I am going to visit over the Halloween weekend and do the traditional ghost tours etc. I plan to stay at the Renaissance Arts on Tchoupitoulas and would like an idea of what public parking garages charge.

The hotel charges $28 per day and I would like to know what other options are before getting there. I know there are a few garages and/or lots nearby. Central, Standard and Crescent City are the three closest I can see on the maps. Anyone know what they charge by hour/day? Are there any other lots/garages that are recommended in easy walking distance from this hotel? Any place to avoid?

Looking forward to your insights on parking and any other ghostly related things I should know for this Halloween season.

Can't help wioth your garage question (no one else, either, it seems). Don't resist when someone tries to take your ?purse?camera/bag/whatever. Tourists get shot all the time-no possession is worth that! Don't walk down streets by yourself, especially at night. Stay with crowds. Do a cemetary tour, take a river boat tour, ride the streetcar. Have fun, just don't get drunk and stupid.

Are you aware of any significant diff between the different ghost tour operators? Haunted History vs Magic Tours vs City Tours?

My wife and daughter are into halloween, so we figured the nighttime ghost tour is a must. Now to pick one and find the best coupon discount!

I'm not personally aware of the tours/differences.
