I've been googling crime data, accessibility to stores and transportation, but I wonder if anyone here has any feedback.
Since I'm disabled, I get to pick a development, not just a borough.
My choices are
Cypress Hills
Coney Island I
Sumner
Justice Sonia Sotomayor

I'm sort of scratching off Justice Sonia Sotomayor houses due to proximity to my doctors. Coney Island would be equally difficult.
Note that I'm from NYC and I'm not stupid, I know that all public housing has higher risks, but I was just wondering if anyone who lives or has lived in any of these developments has any feedback.
What say you?

Sumner is best. It's the borderline of East Williamsburg/Bedstuy and has rapidly gentrified. My grandmother has lived there since 1985 and I can tell you that it's always been one of the safer developments. It's a very short walk to the JMZ train at Flushing Avenue station and is only a few stops away from the city. Woodhull hospital is around the corner. Graham Avenue is full of stores and restaurants. Actually the whole area is pretty great. Also, there is a giant Food Bazaar supermarket a few blocks away that is super nice. One day (if you can) take a stroll around that area. Steer clear of Cypress Hills. That area is still pretty seedy and far into Brooklyn. Nothing compared to the area where Sumner is located. Good luck!

Cypress Hills the neighborhood (northern end of East New York) is family-oriented, gentrifying, and quiet, but Cypress Hills the public housing community is NOT in Cypress Hills the neighborhood. It is over by Gateway on the southern end of East New York. I think Sumner would be a better choice.

Thank you for your input! I chose Sumner, and so far it's been really good. The people in the building are nice and so is the staff. I haven't slept there yet, so what goes on at night is to be determined, but I'm glad I chose Sumner. I did my due diligence on Cypress Hills and decided that was a big fat nope.

I chose a development back in January and I’m still currently on the waiting list for that development just waiting smh and it makes me wish I would of chosen another one cause why would it be taking so long? When I got the paperwork it said this development would be having an “anticipated vacancy” unless that person or people decided not to move cause I’m like why would they give me a choice of a place that wasn’t gonna be ready for awhile
