Thanks ispynyc for being so kind again, all this info. is very helpful, it appears that each person has a different timeline with this process from what I can tell based on what people have said on here with different AMI's, household sizes, units available etc.... I just heard from my housing application specialist who said she's reviewing my first round of docs and will let me know if she needs additional documentation, she was very nice but seems quite busy, said to contact her if I have questions. I'm CB 9XXX with 40% AMI for preferably a one bedroom. I tried to update the thread but it won't let me for some reason.

Hi all ,

My application got rejected because according to them :No units in the project meet your household size. keep in mind I have a household of 4 which I fall under the 60% AMI . I already file for the appeal process .

Maybe they are out of 2 bedrooms for cb preferences and a family of 4 only qualify for 2 bedrooms

Hey All,

So I’m waiting to sign my lease.

7xxx CB

I was rejected my first go round because they said I made over the max income by $100

Be vigilant - the new 2023 housing income bracket came out on June 5th, 2023. The new max income is $59340. I was under the max income by $3000.

I submitted my documents for my appeal and was accepted - for a studio - they said that my income was under the minimum for a 1 bedroom - I lost $16000 after submitting two new pay stubs.

I contacted HPD and turns out my agent had done my calculations wrong.

I view the one bedroom and fell in love.

I’m just waiting to sign my lease - it’s been 36 hours since I accepted the offer and no one back from my agent - after numerous calls and an email.

It’s nearly impossible to get anyone from Fifth Ave on the phone because they all “work from home” and “make their own schedule” - as I was told by the front desk agent who sound like she too was working from home.

I dealt with a lot of drama back and forth with Fifth Ave - but the people at HPD are amazing - I just sent them a thank you gift for being so great.

My advice after the battle I went through with Fifth Ave to get this apartment - of something seems wrong, it probably is - contact HPD immediately.

I’m willing to bet they’re nearing the end of CB preferences, just based on the fact that you said there aren’t any units available for your household.
They’ve been moving real slow imo, but seems they’ll start gen pop soon.

Wow, this makes me very happy. I’m due for a yearly pay increase due to inflation which would’ve pushed me way to close for comfort to the max income. This increase gives me cushion. Thanks for this information. Did they say what the new minimum is for 60% AMI. I’m assuming that’s the bracket you’re in.

I believe someone is not doing their job correctly or it was a mistake . After providing birth certificates and my taxes it obvious that I have a family of 4. I will be calling them today and also calling HPD.
