What is the area like? There is a new luxury building, MODA, that I wanted to look into. I am a single, white female working in Armonk. My monthly rent can be as high as 1200 and I would really like a building with amenities, like gym, laundry, parking, etc. If anyone has any suggestions, please message me or leave it here. Thank you!

Race aside, it isn't the best area for a female living alone. Where do you need to be from a transportation perspective? Maybe I can give you other recommendations.

A much easier commute would be from Whitestone or Bayside which is near the Whitestone and Throggs Neck bridges. The luxury building that you are talking about is between Hillside Ave and Jamaica Ave,say no go,say no no.

Hi I was wondering about this place as well. Is there something similar around the same price but in a safer place and 15-30 min closer to manhattan?

The area is downtown Jamaica (between Jamaica and Hillside) and it is not as bad as people make it out to be...however since you are a single female, I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you plan to be out late at night at any point. During the day it's fine because it's really busy, especially on Parsons Blvd but at night it can be shady.
