Full of crap. I think even in the worst areas of Brooklyn or the Bronx you would be a statistical anomaly if you were robbed everyday. Perhaps I am being too literal.
In all seriousness though NYC is one of the safest big cities in the world. If you move here you will be fine.
The real question is whether 95K is worth the move. Where do you live and how much do you make there? Keep in mind NYC is one of the if not the most expensive city in the country.

Yea really, Don't expect to be riding around town in an Escalade with two skanks on your arm at 95K.
I brought it up with my best friend and he said that if you go to new york you will get robbed everyday.

If you would treat that extravagant claim as plausible, I find it hard to believe that someone with your intellect would get a job offer for 95K.
