Can you HOMESCHOOL your child in New York City? (schools, live in)

The school she is zoned for is really bad. can you homeschool your child if you live in NYC? She is a 6th grder. Is it expensive?

I have a friend who homeschools. There are many parental resources and classes available to homeschoolers in the city. However she reports that the community is filled with cliques and drama. (But not worse than the school her kids are zoned for.)

Yes, you can homeschool anywhere in the United States. New York has stricter laws than most states; I'd recommend affiliating yourself with a homeschool support group and reading up on all of the laws and guidelines before you officially begin. Good luck!
