Hey, I just moved to Astoria and I called up ConEd to set up the electric. It was on when we moved in, but I obviously wanted to get my account setup so that the electric didn't get turned off. I told the guy my address, apartment, name, social security, email address and all that. He asked me about setting up online billing or something but I didn't have bank routing number/checking account number with me. So he told me I was good to go and that it's effective starting today. He never gave me an account number or anything so I can't check my bill online I don't think. I don't feel like calling back since I was on hold for almost thirty minutes. Is there any other way to retrieve this? He was rather hard to understand and I feel like I "set something up" improperly. Thanks

Looks like you will just have to call him back. No way around it. When I did everything I just waited for the first paper bill then set up the online billing.

Did they give you an account number on the phone?

Maybe you could try going to one of their Walk-In Centers to check on your account?
Con Edison: Customer Central - customer service walk-in centers
