I've seen Mr Big (Sex and the City) out jogging in the west village. Just jogging like a regular guy with his friend and no one noticed or said anything till someone SAID something.

Really if you aren't look for it, you aren't likely to notice.

I remember seeing Cyndi Lauper at the table across from me at a rather cheap restaurant around 40 something street (W of 8th Ave). The friend I was with went up to her table and said "Are you Cyndi Lauper". One of the guys sitting with her said "Yes, that's her." He didn't seem amused.

And I saw someone who I was told is a TV star at a grocery store in the Upper West Side once.

Um, you've obviously never spent any extended period of time in the West Village...

Andy Samberg lives a few streets over from me and is a regular sighting, Jason Sudeikis was in front of me picking up a package at UPS, I saw Jennifer Coolidge on Bleecker Street the other day—and that's just within the past week. Plus, I'm generally oblivious so who knows how many people I pass by and don't even notice.

Other people me/my boyfriend have seen or met around the city... Yoko Ono, Robert DeNiro (having brunch in Tribeca), Tom Wolfe, Rihanna, Alexander Wang, the guys from Shipley & Halmos (fashion designers), etc.

Never have seen anyone out with security or mobs of people. They just go about their normal lives like anyone else (i.e., Jason Sudeikis picking up his package at UPS).

There are lots of trains in downtown... It's not like the further out you go where you have just one or two lines.

West Village is going to be 14th Street, Christopher Street and Houston Street on the 1, 2, 3. Greenwich Village is going to be W. 4th Street (lots of trains here—B, D, F, M, B, C, E, etc.), 8th St. (N, R). SoHo is going to be Spring Street (C, E, 6), Prince Street (N, R), and Broadway-Lafayette (B, D, F), etc. Not hard science but that gives you a rough outline of neighborhood boundaries.

Right, but you don't live down here, i.e., most of your time here is probably spent walking to/from the train to/from your destination.

I live here so, when I walk my dog 3/4x a day, grocery shop, run errands, etc., all in the same neighborhood, I do notice people.

I am not sure what is the soho spot people are talking about. When i mean i go midtown, i mean 34th and 42nd street on the 6th-7th avenue where you take the N, R or 1/2/3 train. When i go downtown, i mean like prince street and 14th street and getting there by the N/R where there are tons of clothing stores etc there but i never ever seen a celebrity around there.

I wanted to know am i in the wrong spot of soho
