Does anyone know if I live in CT and work in Flushing Queens, will I have to pay a NYC income tax in addition to New York State taxes?

Also, is there currently a commuter tax for non NYC residents?

Thanks.

i believe the way it works is you have to file non resident in ny and then you get a credit towards your ct taxes. the nys taxes is usually higher then you pay elsewhere so although you pay a higher tax then you might otherwise have your not taxed 2x. all other income you have outside of nys is filed on your ct taxes.

Yonkers is the only place in NYS with a commuter tax. NYC's commuter tax was repealed by the state legislature in '99......

There is still a NYC commuter tax but employers pay it, not employees.
