Hi there, I'm looking to stay in New York for a fortnight this July and am currently searching around on Craigslist for vacation rental apartments. My budget is somewhere in the region of $100 per night (for one room) situated anywhere in Manhattan, Harlem, Brooklyn.
The problem is, I've done some research and it basically seems like the site is teeming with fraudsters and at the moment I'd be very very wary of putting a deposit down on any place that I might find looks promising. But at the same time I don't really want to turn up in July and have to stay in a hostel because I didn't arrange anywhere in advance.
I was just wondering whether anyone might be able to point me in the right direction of some legitimate rental sites or agencies?
