Hi,

i have some unemployment confusions and I'm hoping that someone else may know the answers. I have been collecting, and was offered a temp job for a period of 3 wks. Would I still file those weeks and just state that I made more and not collect?
(it could be a small paying gig that won't even earn me more that the unemployment rate) I don't want to mess up claim status.
Also, during this 3 wk period my 1 yr (unfortunately yes it has been that long) will be up. I know i can qualify for the extensions (thank goodness) and don't want this small paying gig to jeopardize the small amount that I need to help get by til I find full time work. Does anyone have experience with unemployment? Cause i could really use some help?

thanks to anyone who may be able to help!

Levi. here's how it works:

Unemployment is paid on the basis of 4 days per week.
You can file for benefits if you only work a few days.
Thus one days work will cut off 25% of you U.C., two days work will halve it, etc.

If you work 4 days, you cannot collect anything that week. If you make over $405 in any week, regardless of # of days worked, you cannot file.

If they pay you only 1/4 your rate in a week, you do not lose the other 3/4, it stays in the pot and extends the time you can collect.
