Hello there everyone. I am a 28 year old guy here in Las Vegas, Nevada. Me and my boyfriend are wanting to move to the city, although I know living in manhattan is costly. I've been to New York of course and love how easy it is to get around. I stayed in queens when I went.
I want to know where is a nice safe area to possibly call home outside the city. a place that is affordable, under 1300 a month at least one bedroom. I want to find a place close to a subway into manhattan.
Can anyone give any good advise.....

Oh yeah we will have a small dog with us as well if that means anything.....

thanks again..........

Your going to dislike somethings and love other things about liveing in the city and in some ways NYC and Los Wages are about same when it comes to open all hours and beening able to shop and have something to eat or have something delived to the apt or house ..plus my doctor love the fact that i'm walking more now and useing the subway to get around now instead of walking out to a car and geting in driveing around ..

now i'm walking more because of not need a car and thats a good thing for a person health ..

Yes, I love the fact that you do not need a car. I never used even a taxi when I was last there, all subways and buses only. I loved it. I love to be active and plus we'll save over $1,000 a month by the two of us getting rid of our cars.
I would like to know where I can find affordable yet nice and safe housing. Agian it is my partner and myself andour small dog. I do want to stay under $1300.00 monthly

ALso! If you don't have about 20 years of Higher Education, then stay away from LAs Vegas Nevada! The simple Jobs that the Good Old Boys Friends did back in the 1960s, Now require at least (4) years of colledge Education to do ! The Good Old days of Living and Working in Las Vegas Nevada are long (GONE-with-the-WIND)!

The biggest problem that the people with socalled college Edecation types is that they will never understand the basis of how to deal with this business ..it a people business and it shows now in there running of the business ...

My company has to shake that out of there head and make them understand that the business we do is basis of how you treat people inside the walls of our business where it from a Casino to the Nightclub to the food court inside the place ..

where the guy is ordering a sandwichinside the socalled food courts areas to a guy out on the town that night and sitting in a top of the line restaurant and ordering a $1000.oo dollar bottle of wine to go with his meal and watching the wine steward bring to there table and do the whole show of opening up your bottle and presenting the bottle of wine to you to have with your meal that night .. ..

it all comes down your people skills and how much can you learn and get into your head this not college and your degree is not means you the know how and skills to run the place ,

i left Vegas back in 2001 after my last kid left for college and i found out that when i come back for business meeting for the company ..I'm amazed at times when i sit and watch the younger people in the room go with things that in the old days would gotten sent to the box for a talk without anyone around for a witness to what happened to them ..

i seeing go it change from the era of people skills to the era of not really know much typle people but i got my college education types there trying to run the places and it shows in there way of running the places ..

For Vegas is down big time in the last few years in my personal beliefs because to many people with not enough people skills have steped into the higher prostions inside Vegas and it shows in the places that they are running

Not to sound like a broken record, but look into Rego Park...$1300 should get you a large one bedroom apt. Stay near Queens Blvd for an easy stroll to the subway.
There are a gajillion apartment buildings there.
