Who thought this was a good idea to put giant posters of an evil-looking clown in subway stations, advertising....

..... Children's Hospital???!!!

As if that loomed over your kid's hospital bed and your kid wouldn't run screaming from the room?

Seriously, what was the thinking there -- "since we can't get Tim Burton to do our ad campaign, we will get his deeply disturbed younger brother".

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw those posters. There's an art director somewhere who's walking around on thin ice right about now.

I think both of you didn't get the point.

I think we found the art director (hello grigou).

Grigou, my friend, this is not a postgraduate course in semiotics, man. This is an approx. 7 ' x 11 ' image of a clown face staring up at you in a non-jolly way. But go ahead and enlighten me and Fred about what "the point" is supposed to be.

The only thing worse would be to put a giant spider on the clown's head and make it appear as if the viewer were falling off a giant cliff while trapped in a tiny box. The Phobia List

UHHHH, I guess no one here gets Comedy Central - or has seen the show Children's Hospital - the actor is Dr. Children, he dresses in clown paint - it s a comedy - I don treally like it, but I recognize the actor.

I'm like Kramer...no clown should get within 100 yards of me.

I think we should take a poll to see how many people think that poster comes within ten miles of "comedy."

Do I "get" Comedy Central? Indeed I do. But this one rates as a miss, not a hit.

Well regardless what you might think of it. It's an add for a show. Not for an actual children's hospital

"gets" as in receives the channel

on another note, - don't know how anyone could mistake that ad for a "real" ad for a "childrens hospital"....it is hot, so I too am thinking a bit slowly....

mystery solved

Oh great, people complaining about an ad about a show they never saw, and thus don't understand the point.

And BTW, it's aired on Adult Swim, not Comedy Central.
