Im staying in the "Hells kitchen" area, West 48th street. Have ten days to enjoy the city with my gf and i was hoping to get the most out of it. Dont have alot of money to blow but the money i do have i wanted to spend on something special for her. Not really interested in the touristy attractions, i wanted some advice from a local on some fun/interesting/badass things to do manhattan/brooklyn.

Would love to take her to a show, Identity Tour at the Nikon theatre in Wantagh, NY sounds awesome but i dont know if i can make the 2hr trip on sunday. Where can i catch some free dubstep??

Thanks for helping a bother out lol.

I'd recommend the sculpture garden at the Met on Saturday around 6-7 pm for a cocktail. It's kind of a semi-fancy, semi-romantic early evening experience which doesn't cost much that attracts tourists and locals alike. Also provides great city views. She'd like it.

Check out Brooklyn bridge park, which sits between the 2 bridges. The Promenade is close by and has nice little cafe's and restaurants. For Nightlife, MacDougal street in the Village has cool clubs like the red Lion, Cafe Wah and Minetta Tavern.

Also, The Highline at sunset is nice. Touristy but much less than other parks as it has been open for a shorter amount of time then other attractions...And the meatpacking district is right there for the NYC flava!

And 230 5ht, on 5th avenue and 27th st is an awesome rooftop lounge and garden. A to die for view with Empire state building in the backround. A personal favourite of mine.

ohmyrockness.com has a listing of free shows.

I'm sure you could find some clubs just playing dubstep. I went to Le Poisson Rouge a few weeks ago, not sure if it was a special event but it was all dubstep that night, good, and free.
