I wouldn't share a studio apartment even with someone with whom I'm having a TORRID love affair.

Never. Sometimes you come home from work and you want to unwind, relax, be a lone and have privacy. In a studio, you can forget about all that - it would be torture at times .... What if you want to watch a certain program on tv and they don't ? What if you want to have people over for a cocktail before you go out and they aren't in the mood to have all these people over, they are forced to go out then ? Not to mention if one is sloppy and the other is neat ....

Don't do it. If you can't afford the rent in NYC, then look just outside of NYC - There are 5 boroughs.
Queens, Brooklyn and parts of the Bronx aren't so bad and a subway ride away -
