Honestly, I would talk with your friends. Seeing they are of age and you aren't you would know before even coming here what their plans were about going out. That way if they are going bar hopping/clubbing you can figure out something else to do. Some friends may not leave a man behind and figure out something else to do so you can join and others may say **** I'm in nyc and just tried 21, I want to party...

Are there any U21 clubs you guys could suggest? I also heard some bars outside of Manhattan are more leniant when it comes to ID'ing. Is there any truth to that?

come back when you are 21.......... i never understood the 21 and over thing. when I was younger it was 18 like Europe and most of the world.

In america you can get drafted when your under 21 and vote for some one who is going to run your country but you can't have a pint at the local Gin Mill go figure.

It's 19+ basically everywhere in the world but America. Sad... truly sad indeed.

Unfortunately I cannot simply retract the booked hotel and flight, hence why I asked what options I have, if any...

Yeah, there really isn't a lot of clubs for 18 & over. You'd think there would be, but there's not a lot. I'm 19 and I've pretty much only been to 3 clubs.

Pacha and Webster Hall are not that great. Actually, Pacha is a little better since they have amenities and some cool air. Webster Hall is REALLY old and has none of that. They're both always crowded, especially when there are special DJ sets.

There are clubs that are 18 and over, but they are scattered around the city. And don't expect to be served, they will likely put a wristband on you signifying you're unable to drink.

You're better off waiting until you turn 21.
I just want to chime in that fake IDs can scan, or else you got ripped off

like most government things, the information on the stripe isn't that complicated at all. actually its plain text that anybody can replicate. you can type the info yourself in notepad and use any card programmer

but yeah OP you cannot be an underage male. these are going to be the longest 2 months of your life

Hello, sorry to bring up a post from so long ago but my boyfriend and I are going to New York around New Year's this year and are wanting some club life. He is 21 and I am 20. Is there anything? If not, what are some fun visitor activities for nighttime?

Depending on the venue you might be able to get in since (a) you're female (I think?) and (b) you'll be with someone who IS 21. Good luck.
