Does anyone know where NYPD salaries can be located? Its not on SeeThroughNY.net anymore - I just tried searching for 2 NYPD officers I know and their names don't show up anymore...Is there another web site the NYPD salaries are listed on now?
Strange that if you search the NYC Police Pension Fund records it
says Name withheld by Pension Fund but it shows retirement date
and pension benefit(2009). Nothing comes up for 2010, 2011...
Diva is looking for those on the payroll. See Through was a much
easier website to navigate a couple of years ago.
Yes. I spoke to an old friend who said they were with NYPD making X salary and I just wanted to confirm it. I can not locate these people on the SeeThroughNY website - I dont know why they changed the format. It looks TERRIBLE now..and I need to click through different screens and categories just to find someone...How on earth is this even allowed - NYC taxpayers have a right to know the salaries of cops, teachers, firefighters and judges, in an easier to read format.
How is knowing someone's salary an invasion of privacy? NYPD's website states the starting salary of all rookie cops. Everyone knows what that salary is, just as with any other Police Dept in the state. My next door neighbor is a 5th grade teacher with the County schools - I know what she earns. If my private sector data became public knowledge, I wouldn't really care who knew my income. It is what it is. Its not an invasion of privacy - only in the US is salary regarded as such a "secret" and "taboo" thing to discuss. In Europe, its common to discuss salary openly.
Paris, France. I lived there in college and worked there - my co workers there had no trouble discussing who made what..In fact, some resumes specifically stated their salary when applying for positions in other countries.
