That's besides the point. Why are there multiple tollbooths throughout Jersey along the same stretch of highway? I can understand a toll when crossing a bridge/tunnel, or exiting off the highway. But what's with the annoying tolls every 15 minutes that charge you to stay on the same highway? Never mind the fact that crossing the Holland Tunnel has to be one of the worst experience for a motorist ever. Even with ez pass its a pain in the azz. You have 8 tollbooth lanes that form into 2 and sometimes even 1 lane.

The only highways with barrier tolls are the GSP & ACE. The GSP now has Express EZPass roadways bypassing most toll booths. So, get EZPass! Much like the bridges & tunnels, the GSP has also changed to double-tolls, reducing the barriers by half.
If that's your real beef, take the bus or train! Or, stay in NYC, with traffic light every block & idiot drivers.

Haha I know, right! New Jersey has some tollbooths on some highways and some New Yorkers think that's cause to complain without acknowledging their own MASSIVE TRAFFIC ISSUE or the fact that you have to pay every time you use the subway or bus. No, no - those are fine, it's just tolls in NJ that are stupid!
You people are real lucky in this day and age. When I was growing up in Westchester, you could smell the reek of Jersey sulfur when the wind was right.
We used to use the East Side Hwy even though we needed to go over to the West Side.
Guy Lombardo used to race boats on the Hudson and after each race he had to have the boat refinished because the Jersey fumes ate the varnish off the wood boats.
Then I went in the Navy and we had to wear gas masks when we pulled into Bayonne.
By the factories off of 75 that stink is in a class of its own lol. I like Atlantic city tho
Listen, I love NYC to the core but nobody who lives in NYC can say ANYTHING about smells. The whole city smells awful.
By comparison, a VERY small part of NJ smells. Maybe 5 square miles, out of 8,000. Most of NJ smells like either the ocean or like any other suburb with trees.
maybe because jersey is on the mainland?
they talk funny? i don't know.
jersey covered up that smell tho. now
it smells like sweet almond or something.
