I'm looking for something like 1-2 nights in a hotel room with my girlfriend. I'd prefer somewhere with a good transportation system or reliable taxi/shuttle service. I'd rather not use a plane as that takes time, then again, if its like a 1-2 hour flight, I guess that's not too bad. Anyway, I work long hours, and so does my girl, so ideally something like leaving Sat. night and returning Mon. night or Tues. morning is preferable. I'd be leaving from NYC.

I second Boston. Philly is close and a good time.
I did both by bus and took transit while there.

If you still are ok with flying I would also agree to Montreal. One of the best cities I have ever been to. Their subway was spotless and ran well too.
