I work in the service industry which I got a degree in and currently work a union job , full-time , full benefits , free meals @ $27/ hour. There is occasional overtime up for grabs too. My place of employ is also at a very central , prestigious location in the UWS.
This job is very basic compared to my skills and ability. It's not the jobs fault because I knowingly applied for it. It is simply a job , nothing more nothing less. I am not challenged as person that is constantly reading about and following the industry, thats my choice .
My question is ..... What are the typical wages in NYC for the average job ?? What areas should I seek that pay around that wage w/ the same benefits ??
Alot of my friends work "medical receptionist" type jobs or at a "law firm" processing something ...they make about 15-18$ , 9-5pm
I hate desk jobs and like things that involve being on the field and interacting with people and things like that. I am an avid current events junkie (read the NYT everyday) and always like to keep up with the world happenings...
Wait, so are you looking for a new job that pays average NYC pay or are you looking for a job that just offers the same benefits that you're getting now? I don't get it.
