For giving me an awesome Sunday night this last weekend. Went to the Mercury Lounge and bled my eardrums out listening to some awesome garage and post-rock sets. I see so much negitivity on this board and I just can't help but shake my head. Get out there and live.

and before CBGB's the older folks probably said Big Band music was better. The next generation will have their own places, and then later their own romanticized memories.
The so-called negativity is something New Yorkers should be proud of. It means that we're more realistic than most people, more discriminating, and less paranoid about our image.
Exactly. It's the "golden age illusion." Just like there are oldsters who miss Times Square when it had crime, grime, blood, ****, and porn.

It's true though, if you don't appreciate the city and use what it has to offer and ***** about living here. Then why be here and go elsewhere.
