For the past 20 years, our vacations have taken us over all of the USA. We usually stay for 8 weeks, at a time, and mingle with the locals, not the tourists. I have found beautiful states, but after evaluating the scenery, the people, their customs, their beliefs, and how I can fit in there, I usually come back home, with nice memories, but nothing else. No desire to live outside of NYC. I feel that after living here for so many years, I find that there is no commonality between me, and people from other states.
I am retiring to Palm Springs California. I have been there many times and that is going to be the place for me. I do not like the cold, and as I get older, the NY life is no longer appealing to me.
I come from the age of the 70-80's so that is when NY was fun, not so much now, kinda like been there, done that.....................yawn.
Earlier today I was taking note when watching the Giants playing against the Carolina Panthers. So many big blue fans making noise and wearing blue in an opposing team stadium. It shows that over the years how so many people of our beloved city has had enough with the bs picked up and move to Nascar country
...I find that there is no commonality between me, and people from other states.
