I saw or heard somewhere on dcas website that they are going to call up to the list number 3500 2014 (i dont see that happebing at the rate that they are going). If they stopped at 200 from wbere they are it would suck because I'm less than 400 away.

They called up to 3500 for pre orientation for the last round of hiring I believe. If you are less than 400 away, I would say it is more than likely you will be hired before the list expires.

When they starting hiring for this year I was 750 away from the last appointment sanitation worker. I thought I had no chance on getting hired... I got hired on the 3rd class... They went up too list number around 2500 I think IM not sure but thats about 1000 people from the list just to get 450 new sanitation workers... you have a good chance on getting hired..

And the rule of thumb is usually to get 100 they go through 250-300 numbers. People do turn it down and fail medicals and backgrounds and stuff.

yeah there's a serious portion of people not ready despite taking the test in 2007. Another rule of thumb is that a ton of people end up a class behind where their list number should be so others jump up. These people eventually get the job but a class later due to CDLs, background stuff, who forgot their social, who has points on their license, who thought a letter from their mom saying they slept on her couch was valid residency proof...usual stuff
