Okay, I've never seen the point of of just posting a news item that is already in every headline, unless you have something to ask/say about it.

So people probably knew about the Sandy Hook shooting before it was up here, but I was wondering - does anyone ever research comparative gun laws, New York versus elsewhere? I'd be interested as to whether theirs are as strict as ours. It occurred to me today that even though NYC used to have a high murder rate, we tended not to have mass shootings like Sandy Hook, Columbine, Virginia Tech. It's as if perhaps it's inevitable that serious bad guys will obtain guns for specific hits, but at least our laws are foiling the young disaffected crazies.

Where you get a gun has NOTHING to do with where you can use a gun.
All you need is a car.

Mass shootings typically happen in more rural areas in my observation. Urban areas seem to have more targeted violence or gang related violence.
