I use to work my EMT rotations at St. John's hospital for that area, got some very interesting calls too. not a great place to live... Lefrak also has a history of violent crimes btw..
^^ it's the area where Forest Hills meets Corona. The traffic is probably the worst thing about the neighborhood... hate driving or taking the bus through there.

the developer of the well known Lefrak City complex named after himself never dreamed that his beautiful vision would become the nightmare it is today.
makossa, that goes for Elmhurst as well. Jackson Heights I wouldn't know too much about except that it has a high population of transfestites. Forest Hills however is a very nice neighborhood not too far from there (on the other side of the L.I.E 495)
hope this helps. Oh and Miles I concur with your statement. -=D

Jackson Heights doesn't connect with Lefrak City.. it's behind Elmhurst. The transvestites are only noticeable if you walk around Roosevelt Ave. at the dead of night, which isn't recommended to anyone.
I had HEARD (pure heresay, I was never there) that the tenants are mostly Indian.
These rents, if accurate, are quite good. I know Lefrak construction (from Newport) and I would bet the apartments are very large.
