Corona today is overwhelmingly hispanic [around 70-75%]. It is mostly Mexicans, Columbians, Ecuadorians etc. but use to be mostly Dominican. Only section of the neigborhood that has a significant black population is Lefrak City. Corona never had a very large black population, however nearby East Elmhurst use to.

It was never majority black but it did have a big black pop. late 70s to early 90s... Like others have mentioned, you can see remnants of the past around northern blvd in the 90s... I'm not too familiar with the area other than Lefrak City but from what I remember, the black population used to be around 35-40% back in the day... It was majority Black/Italian with a sprinkle of Hispanics... In the early 90s, the hispanic pop. exploded in the area...

North of Northern Blvd is actually East Elmhurst, I think. But that area use to have a large black population up until around 2000 or so.

This is true. Corona is mostly mexican today.
