Visiting NYC next week. What's are some interesting exhibits/galleries/performances/film events going on around town that are current and contemporary in that way only NYC can be.
Why not do something different? Here's a photo exhibition about South Bronx in the 70's-90's era:
After 30 years of photographs and 34 months of planning, 6 Bronx photographers are finally opening their photo exhibit, “SEIS DEL SUR: Dispatches from Home by Six Nuyorican Photographers”, on January 19th at 4:00 p.m. The photographers, Joe Conzo Jr., Ricky Flores, Angel Franco, David Gonzalez, Edwin Pagan, and Francisco Molina Reyes, share an important and intimate view of their lives growing up in the South Bronx, from the 1970s-1990s.
The show will last until March 8th at the Bronx Documentary Center in the Bronx, NYC
My recommendation is that you buy copies of The New Yorker, New York, and Time Out New York.
I second this idea.
