Whats up so im looking to move to NYC and be a sanitation worker. Ive heard about exam 6063.
I live in Union County NJ and have worked for public works for 9 years. Now Christies healthcare and pention reforms mean a downward spiral for the next 4 years. No contract in sight and even that is capped at 2.5%

My beautiful girlfriend of a year lives in Chinatown. Im in NY almost every weekend.

Ive heard i need to be a NYC resident to take the exam. Can i say i will immediately move to NYC?
Also i have a CDL class B air brakes included in NJ. Will that transfer to NY or do i need to take the test again??

Anyone who can help answer my questions i greatly appreciate it! I love NY and to me NJ is just the traffic of NY without the things to do.

Thanks again

D-Caff

Click on the following link to find out everything you need to know about how to become a garbageman: www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/sanitationworker.pdf

The filing has been closed since 2007. Keep checking DSNY's website for the next exam, whenever that will be.

Word is that a new exam will actually be open for filing at some point this year. You will not find anything official about that anywhere yet, and you didn't hear that from me.
