We are flying into LaGuardia and staying at the New York Marriott Downtown, which is next to the WTC Memorial. Anyone have an approx cost of taxi fare for 3 of us from airport to hotel? Is there a specific route we should ask the taxi driver to take that would get us there faster and/or cheaper?
Thanks!!!
I don't know the answer to this, but you could call Mexicana Car Service and ask them for a fare quote. If you like their quote, you could call them when you are at Laguardia and they will send a car and let you know where to meet them (usually one lane over from the cab stand). They sometimes answer in Spanish but all the dispatchers are fully bilingual. Mexicana Car & Limo - Jackson Heights - Jackson Heights, NY
I am guessing the fare will be around $35-$40 before tip in a car service. Don't know about a cab.
Throw it into hopstop- they have a taxi calculator.
My guess is it would be well north of $40 all-in - taxi fares just went up by 25% per mile and bridge tolls went up too.
I would guess to minimize the fare tell the driver to take the Williamsburg Bridge since it does not have a toll and that would be a logical direct route anyway.
Your best best is Carmel Limo. I got a 30 rate for 3 people from 8 am to 8pm. After 8pm it becomes 36.00. They also have a 4.00 off coupon for airport pick ups. They you have to add tolls and a 15 % to 20% gratuity (not mandatory to tip)
LGA airport to 85 West St New York, NY 10006 (Downtown Marriott). Go to the website and you can get a rate for your pick up. if you decide to go with carmel, remember to apply the 4.00 coupon to the reservation.
If you want to save money take an MTA bus from the airport to the 7 train and ride the rails to downtown Manhattan. It's easy
not really that easy. you have to remember all the luggage that these 3 folks are going to have. carry that on a bus then a train then another train. (imagine if they have to do this during rush hour...no bueno!)
taxi or super shuttle bus would be the most convenient way. split the fare among 3 people and it's not really that much money. carmel would be 40.00 (tolls and tip) 40/3 = $13.00 per person
