Is this REALLY the best steakhouse in NYC? Isnt it owned by that fat guy from Queens on the food network?

I personally ate at the one on Bell Blvd in Bayside. Excellent. I have eaten once in the City but 3 times in Bayside. Highly recommend.

I've been to the one in Bayside several times and I think it was much better than Peter Lugers in my opinion. Their service is amazing but pricey just like the others. I don't get the whole kobe steak thing. No way am I spending that kind of money on a steak. I think a kobe burger goes for close to $100 (in general, not specifically at Uncle Jack's).

Is it "really the best"? Probably not. I find a lot of these expensive steakhouses are the same. Very expensive steaks, al a carte side dishes, servers in suits, ambiance is quiet and relaxing.

And yes, the owner does one of those undercover shows on the food network. If you've been to his restaurant and experienced the staff there, you'll understand why he is the way he is on his show.

I've been to the Uncle Jack's on 10th Avenue and didn't think it was that great in my opinion.....

Generally places that advertise that much (like in all the in flight magazines) aren't usually the best in my experience.

Just for fun my top 5 steakhouses. Lugers, Ruth Chris (I know chain), Keens, Uncle jacks in bayside, and Jake's on Broadway up in Riverdale. BTW saw Cervilli of the Yanks at Jakes.

I went to the one in Bayside, Queens on Bell Blvd a few years ago and though it was amazing, very expensive though.

This place by no means is the best steakhouse in NYC! And I have never seen anyone claim that but the owner! I suspect this thread is publicity for the restaurant.

My most recent experience was one of the Friday's during Lent. I ordered their $12 buck burger special, which is typically a burger, but because it was Lent it was fish. I had no idea. I said I wanted it cooked medium...you would think that would tip them off that I think it is beef, but no. The burger comes out as fish, and I complain, they return it and make me a burger. The burger comes out, I cut it in half and it is completely uncooked on the inside...no not red, it was raw...like raw meat. I sent that back and I said no more..the manager came out and apologized, I said no thanks I want nothing else here. He pleaded with me, offered me dessert, drinks, all of which I declined.

As I left he came from behind and slipped a $25 gift card into my jacket pocket. He insisted I keep it...I threw it into the garbage....if they can't cook a $12 hamburger...how do you expect a good steak? No thanks!

I dont know what you expect when you order one of the cheapest items on the menu. Do you dine out often?
