Thinking about moving to the northern part of this neighborhood... just at the south of the Cross Bronx Expy. Can anyone tell me how good or bad this neighborhood is. I'm assuming is good since is close to the south side of Parkchester. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.
The name Unionport is not used as a neighborhood very much.It might help in soliciting opinions if you give a street or intersection. Most people might think you are talking about Catle Hill or Westchester Sq or Parkcheter.
i know what he means i have an old Hagstrom map Unionport is listed just west of Westchester Creek its like over by Castle Hill the Cross Bronx and Bruckner maybe like where the old Joe & Joes used to be
I refer to the area of Westchester ave down to Bruckner blvd, from White Plains to Castle Hill ave. I see a lot of 2 family homes in this area. Seems like most of which owners live in the house. That's why I asked if this would make the area better? Also Parkchester is really close to it and I've heard Parkchester is a pretty good area.
Nice neighborhood. I run by there frequently. You do have Castle Hill PJ's a bit south, but I never had any problems with the PJ's. The neighborhood you're looking at it a few blocks away! About half a mile west is Bruckner Plaza, for some local shopping. There are some nice houses and a Y at the end of Castle Hill Avenue, by the water. Nice view of the Whitestone Bridge.
Only issue: outside of Bruckner Plaza, one may have to go a long way for some amenities.
