Hi guys,

I'm visiting NYC labor day weekend from Canada, I wasn't sure how it works in new york. Are clothing stores generally open on this day in NYC? Or should I stick to the tourist areas to not be disapointed?

Thanks!

Most stores should be open

The poster above me is right, but even then many bars and restaurants are open on those days so the city is never really dead.

I hate when people suggest that the subway system close down from midnight to 5 AM!

YES, Department stores are open. and yes, clothings are so much cheaper in NYC than in Canada. lots of Canadians comes to NYC around the month of August to purchase clothings. you can shopped till you dropped.

ENJOY!

Also, try to be considerate when trying on clothes. please make sure to return the items on the rack where you find it. Please do not leave them in the fitting room. as a courtesy, please bring the clothing you do not want back to where to got them.
