So anybody doing anything exciting this Labor Day Week-end? Anybody doing anything boring this week-end? Anybody laboring this Labor Day week-end? Anybody doing anything at all?

Same here... family owned business and I usually take holidays off when I want them, not on recognized holidays. Sometimes I like that and sometimes not!

Well, we'll have our family cook-out with most of extended family ... that's always fun

Then Sunday is of course church.

Then we'll be heading to either/or/and:

1) Cambria County Fair - loads of rides and food and music
2) Johnstown Folk Fest - loads of music and food
3) Southern Allegheny Arts Festival - loads of arts and crafts and some food
4) Johnstown Ethnic Festival - loads of ethnic foods (pugach, halushki, halupki, pierogi, greek, italian, polish, etc., etc.) and tours of our historic churches and music.
5) Forest Hills Festival - food, games, music, fun

My town is pretty subdued until Labor Day weekend .. then everything happens all at once

I think we are going to the Michigan State Fair (http://www.michigan.gov/mistatefair - broken link). Just a few miles away, and it's the oldest state fair in the country. Should be a blast, if we can keep the $$ spending down!

Same here, ILNC. Kinda same ol', same ol'. My husband and I are going to be leading a grief recovery class at the end of September and sign - up at church starts this Sunday. We have to get some stuff together for that this week-end.

I'm just glad to be off Monday. I used to be receptionist at a car dealership and had to work these holidays like eufo said. It was kinda a fun job but I hated working holidays. The guys just kinda said, "welcome to the world of retail!" Well, to that!

I kinda liked dojilyn's camping plans (what am I saying- I've never camped out in my life!?) But it sounded good being outdoors and with close friends and all... if it would be some place cool! I thought mams plans sounded fun too...again with the same caveat...if it is someplace cool! Same for Jeff's state fair!

That would be me! My idea of "roughing it" would be a budget motel!
