According to Esquire, The Bronx's Little Italy is the real thing. Funny how most New Yorker's don't know that.

Yeah that article was from a few months back. I remember when it came out.

I think Belmont at least the arthur ave/187th strip and the area around Fordham Road is a hidden gem and one of the last few remaining neighborhoods with an old NYC vibe. Would like for it to stay that way though. I don't want to see it lose its charm. The stores still have old awnings etc.

Belmont does have a very nice atmosphere and great food. I also think it's a hidden gem.

Do that many italian Americans still live around there? I see that they own the businesses, but it doesn't seem like all that many still reside in the immediate vicinity.
