I make about $300 on a good day in the salon. That's NOT including tips. I have made $500 in one shift bartending. Granted these aren't averages, but I'm still doing pretty well and not choosing between food and rent hardly lol. It's really not that difficult to understand when it's $200+ for a cut/color/style service that takes 1.5-2 hours at 50% commission and doesn't include the standard 20% tip even. Or pouring drinks that cost $15+ at a packed bar with rapid speed, often receiving well more than a 20% tip.

Although some stay at home german moms may get 12 months per year of "vacation" time, most germans do not have that 3-month vacation time. on the other hand, italy is not known as a vacation-generous country, but many italians are half at work and half on vacation in their jobs. so italians on average has lot more vacation hours than germans do.
Yes, at an high end salon hairdressers can make that amount of money and more. Think celebrities, those salons on Fifth Avenue they charge a lot. I remember watching some show awhile back and they told how much some of these beauticians can make and it was jaw dropping.
Same with bartending, depends on the bar or club.
And as far as looks, why do you doubt she's attractive? Some men are afraid of really attractive women.
