My friends that purchased did within the past 3 years or so. I guess now it is more effective to just whine and complain about inequality rather than take their lives to that next step. But then again, there is a big difference between queens and brooklyn.
Well, how much does a condo in one of those new LIC developments cost? I thought they were extremely expensive, am I wrong?
It was bound to happen eventually, this is what I said 10+ years ago when I first witnessed the new comers in my grandmother's neighborhood of Williamsburg at the time. People also laughed when I prophesized that the new comers and developers will move deeper into the interior.
The thing is, it's going to happen, a huge chunk of the northern half of Brooklyn will be altered and a large percent of the former population removed.
Don't be surprise if the South Bronx takes off big time soon.

This bodes well for Bedford Stuyvesant. I would think that a forward looking person would look into purchasing property in Brownsville, Ocean Hill, and Ridgewood in Queens.

Rudgewood is actually getting a lot of looks right now, but Brownsville is a long way off. Maybe in 5-10 years it'll start to move. Right now you should be putting your money into Greenpoint, Bed Stuy, & Bushwick
Bushwick, Greenpoint, Ridgewood and Bed Stuy are in the hot zones already and can be quite pricey. 2 out of the 4 neighborhoods mentioned were never bad.
If you thinking areas that are cheaper, not attractive at the moment or the not the best like Bushwick and Bed Stuy were (still are for many) and believe eventually a transition will arrive at these locations in the future. I'd say Ocean Hill, Cypress Hills, Flatbush-East Flatbush, Weeksville.
I honestly believe Brownsville proper is a bit out of the way and most of the housing is much further south of the Atlantic Ave, no ?

I know one person that bought a 2 bed/2 bath for like $550ish. I know another that bought a penthouse 2 bed/2 bath with 2 balconies for $800k. This was about 2 or 3 years ago. Both could sell at a higher price in today's market.

How you gonna put ridgewood in the same sentence as ocean hill-Brownsville like that?
