what are some stereotypes you grew up hearing associated with the people living in each borough & the borough itself?

Brooklyn & the Bronx are ghettos, Queens is full of sissies and not cool, Staten Island is not part of NY etc.

Brooklyn. Everyone says things like "toitytoid and toid" and "aint it the trut'". Now I know some people still speak Brooklynese but it seems to be getting rare.

My maid or nanny is from Queens. Bronx is great for shootings. Brooklyn is thr borough of Hipsters, churches and housing projects.

Manhattan: you go there to see the attractions, wealthy business people and annoying tourists.

Brooklyn: Pre 2010 it was the tough borough. Now its known as hipsterland.

The Bronx: No mans land. even the tough people from brooklyn are scared to go there.

Queens: soft

Staten Island: the red headed stepchild. not the real NY.

Bronx: Bronx Zoo, Yankees, burned out apartment buildings

Manhattan: Uber-expensive, skyscrapers everywhere, businessmen

Queens: Boring, airports, great ethnic food

Staten Island: Tanning salons
