I know that "Little Egypt" is in Astoria: Steinway Street from 28th Ave to Astoria Blvd.
I have never been there but would like to go. I know they have Moroccan and Egyptian restaurants but do they have anything else like perhaps gift shops with Egyptian fabrics, scarves, teas, spices, etc?
If anyone here has been there, please let me know what it's like.
It doesn't matter when you. The sandwich shop has some seating room, but it's very much a grab and go place. Food is great but expect to wait for it for a while if you don't speak Arabic. For a sit-down place in that area go to Kabob Cafe or Mombar.
It's not much unlike any other block in New York. Just go and enjoy yourself.

I don't speak Arabic and have always found the service quick and efficient
Wow. When I lived there many moons back it was mostly all Greek. There was German butcher off Steinway we loved.
