I think the subway is the most disgusting place I've ever been , bordering on subhuman / third world. That being said, I take it every day. I'd avoid it like the plague if it were more practical. But besides going to / from work, I will never take it.
again, 3rd qorld countries like china may have world class subway system, way ahead of the 100yrs old system here in nyc.
I don't find it strange that you don't use the subway. However, I do find it snooty that your options are walking and Uber. (Has Uber even been around for five years?)
I don't use the subway much either and, like you, I prefer being above ground. That's why I use buses.
I do find it strange that you live in NYC and don't use the subway. I think you fear being in enclosed spaces with ..... the sort of people that use subways.
I've lived here in Manhattan for 5 years and I very rarely use the subway. I've probably used it four times in total this year.
The title of your thread is misleading since you have actually used the subway.
I much prefer using uber and walking. I live around Madison Park and there is just so much around me so I don't need to travel far. When I travel out of the nabe, I just use a car.
What in the world is a "nabe"?
I'm not sure why some people find this strange but they do. I just much prefer the scenery from above ground and the subway isn't my thing.
How would anyone else know your subway use habits and why would anyone bring it up in conversation or even care?
